The Airframe and Propulsion team is responsible for designing the rocket frame, building a subscale test rocket, and ensuring the solid-propulsion motor operates safely and successfully.

Overview

The Manufacturing Team's primary role is to build components, molds, and prototypes for both club needs and personal projects. The team is also responsible for all shop training for the club and for any design reviews of components to be built. Our team's current manufacturing capability encompasses a range of processes that support the use of multiple materials. This team is vital to our club's goal of maximizing in-house manufacturing, as it is the primary source of all our machining needs.

Current Projects

The manufacturing team's current projects include final assembly and integration of the Dakota Sphinx rocket, one of the club’s liquid-propellant projects. They are also working on building any prototypes or components needed for the IREC competition. The team is also committed to continuous improvement and to providing instruction for all club members in building their own projects, such as Certification Rocket Launches, Personal Engineering Projects, and any other projects that may need to be built.
